As a union carpenter, Doug Hunt believed that working families in Western Pennsylvania were not being well-represented in Harrisburg. But with no political experience, Doug needed a strong team to help get his campaign for state representative up and running. So he turned to Think Big Campaigns to manage his run for office where we developed a full campaign strategy that planned his run for state office from top to bottom.
STRATEGY
With no opposition candidate in the district in six years, the organizational infrastructure was in desperate need of a revitalization. We helped gather volunteers excited for a change, and developed a field plan to inform voters that they have a choice for better representation. We helped amplify Doug’s message of a family wage and great education opportunities through direct mail, social media, and a variety of other platforms. Think Big also assisted Doug in building new relationships with other union organizations encouraging them to help send one of their brothers to the state house.

With a bold field plan, strong communications strategy, and a candidate ready to make a difference we helped start a grassroots campaign in an area that hadn’t been organized in over six years. Doug and Think Big Campaigns helped build a base for progressive movement in Westmoreland County for years to come.
